In this tutorial we are going to cover different editing procedures that all pertain to editing the website header (top of the website) but could also be used for the website footer (bottom of the website).


  1. Adding site logo with dynamic content
  2. Linking homepage using dynamic content
  3. Selecting menu in menu module
  4. Changing section background


First you will go to your website admin dashboard. Then on the left hand side you will click on "Divi" then "Theme Builder".



Once on the theme builder page you will see the "Default Website Template" on which is both your "Global Header" and "Global Footer". To edit either you will click the pencil icon. For this example we choose the header.



Once on the header page you will notice the visual builder is already enabled. 

You can see the "sections", "rows" and "modules" are editable.

We will now cover how to add your site logo with dynamic content


First you will hover over the image module and click on the cog wheel icon.


Then if you have an image present that you'd like to change hover over the image and hit the trash icon.



You will then have the choice to add a dedicated image or use "dynamic content" in the top right.

For this example we be using dynamic content to set the site logo. Click the dynamic content icon in the top right.



Choose "site logo" from the dynamic content dropdown. Then hit "Save"


We will now cover adding a homepage link using dynamic content.


Click on the link tab.



Then you can either paste a direct URL or you can choose the "Dynamic Content" icon.

For this example we will choose the dynamic content icon.



From the dynamic content dropdown you will choose "Homepage Link". Then hit "Save".


We will now cover choosing the menu for your menu module.


First hover over the menu module and click on the cog wheel icon.



Once on the page you will choose a menu from the "Menu" dropdown. 



Select the menu you would like. Then hit save.


We will now cover changing the section background color.


First you will hover over the section you'd like to change and hit the cog wheel icon.



You will then choose the "Background" tab, then make sure you're on the color tab. 

Lastly you can choose from the colors provided or you can choose the more color icon.


For the example we choose the more colors icon.



You are then presented with many other options or you can add the color code. We choose a grey from the options provided. Then hit save.



Lastly you want to save all the edits you have made. Click on the purple circle with 3 dots.



Then you will hit the last save that will publish the edits.
