In this tutorial we will cover how to function test the processes on your site. This will not test your credit processor.
(To test your CC processing please reach out to your credit processor)
This function test will check the following
- Cart functionality
- Checkout functionality
- Order email functionality
- Tax is applying correctly
- Shipping is applying correctly
- Order flow functionality
- Drop shipping flow functionality (if on a drop shipping plan)
First you will login to your admin dashboard. Then on the left hand side click "WooCommerce" then"Settings".
Next you will choose the tab payments.
Next you will go to "Check payments" and toggle to enable. Then hit save in the bottom left.
After you enable check payment, you will then go to the customer facing side of the website called the "Front end" by clicking on the house icon in the top right.
Next you will choose a product from any part of your site. In this example I am choosing example product 4 and add to cart.
Next go to the cart and hit "Proceed to checkout"
Once on the checkout screen you will need to check the "I have read" agreement. Then hit "Place order"
Now you will go back to your admin dashboard and this time on the left hand side choose "WooCommerce" then "Orders"
Once on the order screen you will see the order you placed is on hold. Click on the order # to enter the individual order.
Once on this page you can confirm the tax and shipping were added correctly.
Then you will change the status of the order from "On hold" to "Processing"
Lastly you will hit "save order".
